The ECC is proud to say that it has year round facilities suitable for all your conferencing needs. The centrepieces of the Conference Centre are the flagship James Watt Centres: James Watt 1* with tiered seating for up to 600 delegates in the auditorium is further complimented by three sub-dividable syndicate rooms; and the James Watt 2 with 1,000 square metres of versatile exhibition, conference or function space. Both centres offer separate entrances, a large social space, dedicated registration desks, air-conditioning and inclusive wireless internet throughout. Located in close proximity to the James Watt Centres are additional meeting rooms including the versatile Cedar Suite which sub-divides into the Cedar and Oak Rooms; the Beech Room.

During weekends, evenings and vacation periods The ECC’s range of conference facilities are enhanced by the addition of four lecture theatres with capacities from 100 to 300, together with an array of academic classrooms and social spaces; all greatly increasing our conference capability.

We have 4 lecture theatres on campus which provide state of the art facilities. Each lecture theature has a fully climate controlled environment and power points at every seat. The AV equipment allows sophisticated presentations to be delivered using dual, side by side, high-resolution projection systems. Each theatre is capable of making use of a wide range of different media and features an easy to use touch-screen auditorium control system.

From formal meetings to friendly celebrations, the Edinburgh Conference Centre has a venue for all occasions. Enjoy the surrounds of our intimate College Lounge or make a statement in our flagship dining venue the James Watt 2 Centre.

We offer a diverse range of menus and beverages to compliment any occasion and our experienced staff will work with you to ensure the event meets your every need.

Our extensive menus offer a tempting selection of treats to choose from, from finger buffets to themed banquets, incorporating the best local produce and catering for all dietary requirements. Bespoke menus can be produced and priced on request.

Our stunning sunken gardens provide the perfect backdrop to your special day and are complimented by a range of function suites with woodland views; the Edinburgh Conference Centre is a beautiful and memorable setting in which to get married in style. Religious ceremonies for up to 70 guests may be conducted from the University Chapel. Enquiries should be made directly with the chaplaincy.

The Edinburgh Conference Centre is an approved venue for civil ceremonies for numbers of up to 300. Civil ceremonies can be conducted in the James Watt Centre and Sunken Gardens. Please contact us for further details.

Our wedding package offers flexibility and affordability when organizing your big day. We offer an array of venues to choose from, dependent on your anticipated guest numbers and requirements. These inclusive options can be adapted to tailor-make a package which is just right for you.

We work with approved Asian specialist caterers who offer a complete service from menu design to room decoration to ensure your special day goes off without a hitch. With a maximum capacity of 350 guests, our James Watt Centre 2 is an exclusive, spacious venue with a private entrance and a large reception foyer for your guests.
